Lepage Millwork Announces Major Investment Plan Focused on Innovation and Competitiveness

RIVIÈRE-DU-LOUP, Quebec, November 3, 2025—Lepage Millwork is proud to announce a major multi-year investment plan designed to strengthen the company’s competitiveness through innovation, automation, and advanced manufacturing technologies. The initiative includes the integration of robotics and artificial intelligence into a new wood fiber processing facility, improving material efficiency and production performance while reinforcing Lepage’s position in a market largely dominated by U.S. manufacturers.

Several key projects are already complete, including the construction of a new raw material processing plant and a large wood storage dome, as well as the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment and the commissioning of new bonding and large-glass production lines.

“This investment reflects our commitment to consolidating operations, staying rooted in Rivière-du-Loup, and maintaining our competitiveness against much larger players—particularly in the U.S. market,” said François-Xavier Bonneville, General Manager and Co-owner of Lepage Millwork. “It marks an important step in strengthening our internal capabilities and driving innovation to achieve more efficient and sustainable production.”

While automation has become essential to improving efficiency, Lepage Millwork emphasizes that technology will never replace its craftspeople.

“Every door and window we produce is unique,” said Marc-Antoine Bonneville, Sales Director and Co-owner. “Our automated systems support our artisans’ work—but they don’t replace it. People remain at the heart of what makes our products exceptional.”

The company continues to invest despite a challenging economic environment, including ongoing trade tensions between Canada and the United States and new temporary worker regulations that make recruitment harder and threaten the retention of skilled local employees.

“Despite these challenges, we’re choosing to invest in the future,” added the Bonneville brothers. “Our goal is to stand out from the competition and preserve our expertise here in Rivière-du-Loup. Innovation and continuous investment are how we’ll continue to meet—and exceed—our customers’ expectations.”
